Here is a beautifully restored 1954 AMI Model F-120. This box was completely stripped down to the bare wood cabinet and all of the original paint and splatter effect removed. The wood was reglued in spots and all lifting veneer repaired. It was then primed and painted in "Firecracker Red", one of the colors original to this model. The color was matched by hand at a local professional paint store using original chips from another "F" we have in our warehouse. Taking age into consideration, several tests were made before a solid "AMI COLOR" was decided on. Several coats of primer were applied then 4 coats of paint on top of that. Both the inside, outside, and bottom of the cabinet were repainted. The splatter effect was then applied by hand in both gray and black, and the effect is magnificent! |

The amplifier, junction box, and credit unit were rebuilt and repainted to original specifications. The mech was removed and the base stripped down to the bare metal and repainted. The gripper arm assembly and record racks were repainted. The mech gear assembly was cleaned and all traces of old grease removed and relubricated. The drive chain was likewise cleaned and relubricated. The trip finger banks were removed, thoroughly cleaned and degreased and adjusted so that all selections play |

All electrical wiring was replaced. The entire wiring harness to the mech assembly was removed and replaced. The tone arm was rewired with a lighter weight wire and adjusted to a much lighter tracking. All plugs were replaced along with light bulbs, fluorescent starters and ballasts. The only wiring that was NOT replaced was that for the main selector wiring harness. The stepper plug-in boxes were simply cleaned rather than stripped and repainted in order to minimize potential damage to any of the wires once it was determined that every single wire made positive contact with the selection buttons and trip finger banks. |

The original speaker grill was rusted completely. For this restoration, the grill was blasted down to the metal then several coats of primer applied. Three coats of finish paint were then applied. The splatter effect on the grill as well as the striping was all done by hand. The mech shroud was repainted and a new decal applied. All chrome was cleaned and polished to a brilliant shine. The jukebox is in 100% beautiful working condition and is currently set to play 1 song for a dime and 4 for a quarter. |
